1. Who we are
Yadiyar Afrik is a business social network: a public space where shops publish, where visitors discover, comment and share. Shops open there a place that people visit; visitors come in, look, react and get in touch.
Like any social network, Yadiyar is a hosting provider for content published by its members. We do not create that content and we do not check it one by one before publication: each member is responsible for what they publish.
We step in after a report, or when we become aware of content that is manifestly unlawful.
These terms apply to the sites yadiyar-afrik.com, vitrona.yadiyar-afrik.com, romero.yadiyar-afrik.com and guide.yadiyar-afrik.com.
Creating an account, or simply visiting a shop without an account, means you accept these terms.
Yadiyar Afrik is a company established in Burkina Faso. The service is built for the African continent and opens gradually, country by country.
2. The words we use
- Vitrona
- A business present on Yadiyar: shop, restaurant, rental business, services business, training provider, seller of digital products.
- Roméro
- A person who visits vitronas, looks at their items and contacts the shopkeeper.
- Roméria
- A roméro linked to a vitrona by agreement of both parties.
- Guide
- The Yadiyar team: moderation, support, and taking the 360° photos on site.
- 360° tour
- Exploring a place from panoramic photos. You move around inside it as if you were there.
- Clickable point
- A marker placed inside a tour: it opens an item page, leads to another room, or lets you contact a sales assistant.
- Token
- Yadiyar's internal unit of account. 1 token = 200 FCFA. It is used to pay for the management tools and the services. It is not legal tender and cannot be converted back into money.
3. Creating an account
Registration is open to adults and to legally incorporated businesses.
Registering a professional activity is reserved for activities carried out from an identifiable place that a Yadiyar guide can visit and photograph.
The size of the place does not count: an office, a workshop, a yard, a market stall, a storeroom or a workspace all qualify. A single photographed scene is enough.
We ask for:
- a valid phone number, in international format;
- for a business: the name of the manager, the name of the establishment, the city, the country and the type of activity;
- for a visitor: first name, last name, city, country;
- for the Yadiyar team: a work address prenom.nom@yadiyar-afrik.com.
Someone who is both a shopkeeper and a member of the Yadiyar team must create a separate account for each role. You cannot switch from one role to the other from the same account.
We open the service in stages. Registration today is by invitation, or after going through the waiting list. This is not a selection: it is the pace at which we can support each new business properly.
4. What the platform does
A network, not private software
Yadiyar is not a closed tool you would use on your own. It is a network: what you publish is made to travel.
Your posts may appear:
- in the discovery feed that visitors browse;
- on the map of businesses;
- in search results, including those of public search engines;
- in the suggestions made to visitors who do not know you yet;
- in the share previews when a link to your shop is sent on a messaging app or another network.
At any time you can hide an item, hide its price, or make your shop reachable by code only. What you do not want to show does not travel.
The permission you give us
By publishing on Yadiyar, you allow us to display, resize, index and distribute your content on the network and in the share previews, so that the platform works.
This permission is free of charge, non-exclusive, limited to running the service, and it ends when you remove the content — subject to temporary technical copies, for as long as the caches take to clear.
We do not resell it, we do not hand it over to third parties, and we do not use it in adverts for other brands. It is there to make you known, you.
Your place, visitable online
Your items are shown in a catalogue, inside 360° photos of your place. Visitors move from one room to another, open an item page, and contact you directly.
The management tools
Depending on your activity, you get tools to keep track of your sales, your credit, your stock, your expenses, your staff, your rentals, your training or your services. You are never obliged to use them all.
The support
The Guide team comes out to photograph your place, places the clickable points, moderates reported content and answers your questions.
Yadiyar does not guarantee that you will sell more. We provide a tool and a shop window; the commercial result depends on your business.
5. What is free, what is paid
| Free, with no time limit | Paid |
|---|---|
|
Publishing your shop Receiving your orders Being visited by roméros Being contacted |
The management tools The 360° photo packs The additional services |
The management tools are paid for in tokens. Your first month is free.
The token
1 token = 200 FCFA. Tokens are bought by mobile money. They are used to pay for a subscription to the tools, a photo pack, or to support another member.
The token is an internal unit. It is not legal tender and cannot be converted back into CFA francs or any other currency. The people Yadiyar pays are paid in local currency, never in tokens.
If your balance reaches zero
You lose nothing. Your shop stays visible and roméros keep visiting it. Only the management tools go on pause.
One top-up, and everything resumes exactly where you stopped.
6. The money from your sales
The people who order from you pay you directly on your own mobile money number, or in cash, or by whatever means you accept.
Yadiyar takes no commission on your sales and at no point holds the money from your transactions.
What you pay Yadiyar is only the tokens you buy for your tools and your services. Nothing else.
7. If you visit and order (roméro)
The previous sections are mostly about shopkeepers. Here is what concerns you if you come to visit, follow shops and order.
Entering a shop, looking at the items and seeing the prices needs no registration. The account is for ordering, following a business and chatting.
Your order is an agreement with the shopkeeper, not with us
When you order, the contract is formed between you and the business. Yadiyar puts you in touch, displays the catalogue and passes on the order — we are neither the seller, nor the payment intermediary.
- The price, the availability and the quality are the ones announced by the shopkeeper. They are the one answerable for them.
- You pay the shopkeeper directly — mobile money, cash, or whatever they accept. Yadiyar does not receive your money and at no point holds it.
- So we cannot refund you: we never had the funds. A dispute about an order is settled with the business.
- Delivery or pickup is arranged by the shopkeeper, according to what they told you.
We prefer to write it plainly rather than let you find out when something goes wrong.
What we can do when things go wrong
We are not your financial recourse, but we are not bystanders either:
- report a business or a piece of content from the app;
- we review the reports and can take content down, suspend or close an account;
- a business reported several times for the same reason is reviewed again — that is the point of our admission rule: every business here has a real place, visited.
What we do not promise: no refund, no guarantee on an item, no commercial arbitration.
Your obligations
- give an exact phone number — that is how the shopkeeper reaches you;
- do not order without intending to honour the order;
- stay civil in your exchanges: insults, harassment and fake reviews lead to the same sanctions as for a business;
- be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You can ask for your account to be closed at any time, through the complaints line given at the end of these terms. Your past orders stay visible to the shopkeepers concerned: they are their documents too.
8. The community rules
A network holds together on trust between its members. Here is what is expected of everyone.
- Give accurate information, kept up to date.
- Do not pass yourself off as someone else, and do not create several accounts to get around a suspension.
- Do not publish anything illegal: violent or discriminatory content, counterfeits, goods banned in your country.
- Do not harass or spam the other members.
- Do not try to get around the platform's payment mechanisms.
- Do not publish content that is not yours without having the right to do so.
- Do not manipulate visibility artificially: fake accounts, fake reviews, inflated views or "likes".
- Respect the other members in the forums, comments and messages.
Yadiyar hosts, but does not write in your place. The descriptions, the prices, the photos and the promises you display are binding on you towards the people who order from you and under the law of your country.
9. Reports and sanctions
Any member can report content. The Guide team reviews the reports and can, depending on how serious it is:
- hide the reported content;
- let a business block an abusive visitor;
- suspend an account temporarily;
- close an account permanently.
If an account is closed permanently, some records are kept: the payments received, the sanctions log, and what the law requires us to keep as a hosting provider. Remember to download your invoices first — we do not keep your accounts for you. See the privacy policy.
Except for manifestly illegal content, we contact you before any suspension to understand the situation. A mistake can be corrected; an account closed by mistake costs someone their business.
10. Your photos and your content
The photos you take and publish yourself, your catalogue, your texts, remain your property. You simply allow us to display them on the platform.
The 360° photos taken by a Yadiyar agent remain the property of Yadiyar Afrik. You have a free and permanent right of use to display them on your shop, including if you stop paying for the management tools.
The Yadiyar platform is protected. All rights reserved. The Yadiyar brand, the names Vitrona and Roméro, the logo, the texts, the visual identity, the software, the organisation of the network and the database belong to Yadiyar Afrik.
You have the right to use the service. You acquire no right over the platform itself. The following in particular are forbidden without our written agreement:
— copying, reproducing or reusing the software, the screens, the texts or
the visual identity;
— trying to reconstruct our code, by any means whatsoever;
— extracting the network's data on a large scale, by crawler, robot, script or
by hand;
— using our content or our data to train an artificial
intelligence;
— removing or hiding the ownership notices.
These prohibitions apply whether access is free or paid, and survive the closing of your account.
You can share a link to a shop or an item. You cannot copy another member's catalogue, photos or prices to republish them elsewhere.
The invoices, quotes and statements you issue from the platform carry your name, not ours. The people who receive these documents see your business, not Yadiyar.
11. Our role, and its limits
Yadiyar is a hosting provider and a technical intermediary. We provide the space for publishing and for putting people in touch; we are neither seller, nor buyer, nor author of the content published.
So we are not responsible for:
- the content published by the members — texts, photos, prices, comments — for which each author answers;
- the quality, the conformity or the delivery of the goods sold;
- the payments between a business and the person ordering from it;
- commercial disputes between members.
We promptly take down any manifestly unlawful content that is reported to us, and we cooperate with the authorities on a lawful request.
We do not monitor in a general way what is published — no network can — but we act as soon as we know.
We do undertake, on the other hand, to keep the service available with reasonable effort, and to protect your data as described in the privacy policy.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. If an important change is made, the version number changes and you are told about it at your next login.
Free publishing and free order reception, and the absence of commission on your sales. If that ever had to change, we would tell you separately, not buried in an update.
13. Disputes
If we disagree, we first look for an amicable solution with support.
Failing an agreement, the dispute falls to the court of Yadiyar Afrik's registered office in Ouagadougou, or — if you are a consumer — to the court where you live, at your choice.
Yadiyar Afrik is subject to the law of Burkina Faso and to the international conventions applicable to electronic commerce.
